CSR from Indodax & Ayobantu for Underprivileged Communities

Through the CSR program called “INDODAX for Indonesia: A Mission of Inclusive Health Service”, INDODAX continues its consistency in carrying out corporate social responsibility together with Ayobantu. This time, INDODAX focuses on two agendas,  general blood donation and general health services for underprivileged communities.

The lack of stock of blood bags at the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is one of the reasons for holding this activity. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the total need for blood bags in each country is ideally 2% of the total population.

With Indonesia’s population of 277.75 million people in 2022, the number of blood bags needed by Indonesia is estimated to be 5.56 million per year. Meanwhile, based on data from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the blood stock held by blood donor units (UDD) throughout Indonesia was only 77,438 bags as of June 14 2023.

“This means that this number is still far below the estimated need for ideal blood bags according to WHO standards. “Therefore, as a Brand that cares for people, INDODAX held a blood donation event to help PMI obtain more donors,” said INDODAX CEO, Oscar Darmawan.

Oscar also said that every drop of donated blood is a valuable gift for people who receives it.

Thus, INDODAX together with the online donation platform Ayobantu held this event on November 15 2023 at the sports complex, The Saintuary Sports Hub, Central Jakarta. The blood collected will be managed by the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) in Bekasi City to be given to those in need.

Moreover, the CSR program “INDODAX for Indonesia: A Mission of Inclusive Health Service” also gives general health checks for underprivileged communities which was carried out together with Ayobantu on 23 November 2023 in Kampung Nelayan, Cilincing-North Jakarta.

This program aimed at broader mass, health checks are not limited to certain ages. Through this activity, underprivileged communities can have health checks, such as medical check-ups, treatment, and health referrals.

Apart from getting free general health check-up services, participants will also get free food and medicines to maintain their health.

“We are very grateful to INDODAX which always work in synergy with Ayobantu. We will carry out this mandate to the right targets. “In the future, we hope that this CSR program will become widespread so it could cover more people in need,” concluded Ayobantu CEO, Agnes Yuliavitriani.

With Nusa, INDODAX utilize voting system by NFT technology

Collaborating with Nusa, INDODAX, one of the leading crypto trading platforms in Indonesia announced the launch of the INDODAX Short Film Festival 2023 (ISFF) with an innovative touch of NFT technology.

To integrate blockchain technology in everyday life, ISFF will utilize NFT (Non-Fungible Token) for the winner calculation/voting process. INDODAX CEO Oscar Darmawan explained that blockchain technology has much bigger potential and not only for the financial industry.

“We want to prove that blockchain technology can be used as a basis for calculating winners. We will give 100 NFT coupons for free for participants to vote at ISFF,” said Oscar.

“By using NFT, it can be ensured that the distribution of voting rights is distributed evenly and fairly. Then we can also monitor whether the voting rights are actually being used personally or through other people. NFT also allows organizers to view the transaction history of each NFT,” said Oscar. Apart from that, Oscar also explained that the use of NFT technology can reduce and even prevent the potential for fraud.

“The NFT system only allows one vote per NFT, eliminating the possibility of forgery or double counting. Because of this, NFTs can help prevent and reduce the potential for fraud,” continued Oscar.

Wildan Ramadhan, CEO of Nusa, said that NFT technology innovations can be developed for various needs in everyday life. “Not only do they represent unique digital art, NFTs can also be used in other sectors that require authentic, transparent and trustworthy digital representation, such as a representation of votes in the voting process,” said Wildan

Nusa, Using NFT as Tickets to Avert Brokers

Jakarta (ANTARA) – Nusa Finance, a crypto-based financial service provider, advises event organizers to start using tickets in the form of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) to prevent the actions of brokers and ticket bots.

Chief Executive Officer of Nusa Finance Wildan Ramadhan said, NFT tickets could be a solution because blockchain technology allows organizers to control ticket distribution.

“NFT tickets offer a solution to the existing ticket sales problems, such as unhealthy tickets war due to the use of bots, uncontrolled secondary market sales, and counterfeit ticket sales,” said Wildan through his official statement, Saturday.

Meanwhile, Nusa Finance has proven the effectiveness of NFT tickets in the Green Heroes Run event last May 20 as the provider of tickets and certificates in the form of NFT.

Green Heroes Run is a running competition to collect donations, with the mission of preserving mangrove forests.

This event has successfully obtained donations worth IDR 12,750,000 and was attended by 200 participants.

Wildan explained, the blockchain data structure allows all transactions to be connected and recorded permanently.

This is what allows event organizers to continue to have continuous connectivity to the participants from the first ticket sale onwards.

Moreover, the number of tickets, the selling price of tickets on the second market, and the royalties obtained from ticket sales can be arranged directly by the event organizer.

Apart from that, blockchain technology is also known to be very secure, because of its mechanism which does not allow data changes without validation from nodes located all over the world.

Only authorized parties can add transactions to the blockchain, thereby eliminating the frequent problem of selling counterfeit tickets or duplicating tickets.

Furthermore, Wildan said, the use of NFT tickets would be increasingly relevant to be used to reduce ticket sales monopoly which is often an obstacle for many event organizers.

Nevertheless, the adoption of the use of NFT is still limited, due to the gap between users and the world of Web 3.

Nusa Finance is a crypto-based financial service whose mission is to develop a Web 3 ecosystem that is easy to use and useful for its users.

Currently, Nusa Finance has official permission from the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia under the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency.

DBS Bank Collaborates with Jangjo for #MakanTanpaSisa

Bank DBS Indonesia is collaborating with a waste management startup (Jangjo) to address the problem of food waste in commercial areas such as shopping centers and restaurants in the DKI Jakarta and South Tangerang areas by implementing a circular economy concept waste management system.

The Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) noted that organic waste and food waste dominate the amount of waste in Indonesia, which is 40.8 percent or around 19.5 million tons in 2022. Household waste is the largest contributor with a composition of 39.2 percent. , and followed by trade centers 21.2 percent.

Head of Group Strategic Marketing & Communications PT Bank DBS Indonesia Mona Monika said, with the high amount of food waste that threatens the environment, Bank DBS Indonesia has initiated the ESG program, ‘Towards Zero Food Waste’ or MakanTanpaSisa since 2020.

“The MakanTanpaSisa Movement works with various partners to reduce food waste so it doesn’t end up in landfills (TPA). In 2022, we managed to save around 56,596 kg of food impact, an increase of 241 percent compared to 2021,” said Monika in Jakarta, Wednesday (12/4/2023).

Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Jangjo Teknologi Indonesia Joe Hansen said, food waste, especially in urban areas, often escapes the public’s attention, even though food waste accounts for more than 50 percent of the existing waste composition.

He said, most food waste is generated from several points of shopping centers and hotels where there are many food and beverage businesses. For this reason, Jangjo also cooperates with 300 restaurant brands including shopping centers such as Plaza Indonesia, PIK Avenue, Mall of Indonesia (MOI) to Ashta.

Joe said, from processing one ton of leftovers per day from that location, his party targets the additional processing of food waste to reach 10 tons per day. That way, it can cut 48,000 kg of methane gas, and reduce the amount of food waste in the commercial area of the Jangjo operational area in general by up to 50 percent.

“We have a vision to create a sustainable life for the wider community and the environment. With Bank DBS Indonesia collaborating Jangjo, this #MakanTanpaSisa movement is expected to increase the capacity to process food waste with a target of 10 tons per day,” said Joe.
